NORTH ISRAEL | 2 DAY HIKING | CAMPING | NATURE TRIP [II/IV]

Hello again! Well it has been almost a week since my Part I of the 2 Day hiking + camping trip series! I took too many photos so filtering them was tough! I loved many of the photos too much! Todays post is about Hula Valley + camping on the Dan River! A fun filled day with lots of little surprises!

Was an extremely hot day! I layered that sunscreen and headed off to see some nature. My first "wow" was these trees, I imagined something in Jurassic park, these HUGE EUCALYPTUS trees were planted to dry out the swamps! I wonder what it looked like back then when it was all swampy. I bet there were many many cool fishes around.

A little description from wiki about this place: "The Hula Valley (Hebrewעמק החולה‎, translit. Emek HaHula; also transliterated as Huleh Valley) is an agricultural region in northern Israel with abundant fresh water. It is a major stopover for birds migrating along the Syrian-African Rift Valley between AfricaEurope, and Asia. The marshland around Lake Hula, a breeding ground for mosquitoes carrying malaria, was drained in the 1950s. A small section of the valley was later reflooded in an attempt to revive a nearly extinct ecosystem. An estimated 500 million migrating birds now pass through the Hula Lake Park every year"

May I just say how cool this was for me and what I am about to see! Or what this man below is about to see :) As I was gazing into the water I thought of Lord of the Rings. Those swampy scary waters.

So cool! This catfish reminded me of ancient sea monsters and dragons, the chinese dragon especially came into mind when I looked at this amazing fish. Seriously catfishes look so cool! The water was so murky as well made the experience for me really exciting. hahaa (with my geeky laugh)
Spotted the Nutra or commonly known as the "river rat"/ "Coypu".
Our camping site! The Dan River! Initially we weren't going to settle our camp here but after spotting the tables in the river we decided it was far too beautiful not to at least have a cup of tea. Before we got to the tea, it was a little bit of a "battle" to walk in the river. It was slippery and my flip flops weren't being very obedient. Eventually with some determination we arrived at our table!
Isn't it beautiful? Under our feet tiny fishes were swimming around. The sun was shining beautifully on the waters. Everything was marvelous! Especially our freshly brewed tea and nachos haha, with our feet in the cool river water, enjoying the company of our loved ones and friends! What could be more perfect? This was one of those first experiences I'll never forget.
Oh this tent by Stoic! I'm a newbie at camping but Arkady is not. He purchased this so I could have a wonderful experience on my first "adult" camping trip. It was extremely easy to set up. Please if you are like me being a newbie camper you must check out this tent! Beautifully designed, spacious, and the best part, when you are taking photos from inside the tent it doesn't look as if there is a net!
What is camping without a good bbq dinner? We had a good bbq and after that we found out we were the only ones camping, so the whole space was ours for the entire night! There were also showers (good hot water) and a fridge we failed to see sooner. All our  delicious food was donated to the security guard. Did not want to waste it.

What a fantastic day. One of the best memories I've had, I learnt so much about camping [well]. That even though you are camping you can still feel very comfortable, eat well and sleep soundly. That's really good to know and experience for a city girl like me. The last time I'd been camping was when I was 9. This will certainly not be the last! It's just the beginning! haha

THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES!
