TEA TIME! FROM THE GARDEN!

Todays post is about these two types of teas I've personally been loving here in Israel!  They both come from the family garden! I have never picked fresh leaves off a plant and made tea with it, so this was my first experience! (Life is never the same again haha)

The first plant is Maarva , before visiting Israel I had never even heard of Marva, the smell was slightly strange to me (at first) but it certainly grew on me. It has a really distinctive and strong scent (calming in a way). This is a perfect soothing breakfast tea :)  I love it!

"I like to:  Combine 5 large leaves of Maarva with raw honey + hot water."

I  researched on this plant and found out it actually has another name! Sage herb! Maarva has many health benefits! Such as treating sore throats, cough, ulcers, thyroid fever and more. It has been used for medicinal purposes since ancient Egyptian times. [read more..]

Louisa (Lemon Verbena) is used to heal digestive disorders, fevers, colds, asthma, skin conditions and chills. Louisa has a fresh lemony type scent/ taste. This tea is more of a "good morning breakfast" tea.

"I like to: Combine 5-7 leaves of Louisa with loose leaf Earl Grey + hot water."

What new kinds of teas have you been enjoying? Share with me! :) I would love know! :) xx
